‘Sustainability’ has become something of a buzz-word for small and medium sized providers in recent years, yet achieving a balanced portfolio of funding has remained out of reach for many groups. This workshop will enable organisations in both the private and the third sectors to re-examine their funding and income package and provide practical tools, insights and strategies for long term sustainability and growth.

10:00am— Introduction to the day and welcome

10:10am— How is your organisation funded at the moment?

This is an interactive session where participants will be able to identify where their funding and income has come from to date. They will then be able to examine which income sources have the potential for further growth and which ones might be at risk. The session will also enable participants to develop a timeline for sustainability including key milestones.

10:40am— Options for sustainable funding

Covering current funding and income options, this session will provide up to the minute information on a range of funding streams.

Using alternative financing – Social Investment Business

11:10am— Coffee

11:30am— What needs to change in your organisation to achieve sustainability?

This session will include:

  • Managing internal changes in your organisation
  • Re-structuring, re-deploying and redundancies – what are the real costs and are there other options?
  • Mergers, diversification and enterprise
  • Forward Planning Strategy

12 noon— Who is the customer now and how to effectively market to them.

Changing an income portfolio will inevitably lead to a shift in customer base and a new range of stakeholders becoming involved. This session will enable providers to target potential sources of income effectively.
