Labour Market Intermediaries
We have long experience of designing, managing, reviewing and supporting labour market intermediaries across the UK and they have been influential in the development of the demand-led approach. Two of our Directors were members of the New Deal Task Force Advisory Group on the New Deal Innovation Fund. Rocket Science was commissioned by the Task Force to advise on the development and introduction of the Ambition IT approach. This involved an analysis of demand and supply in pilot areas throughout the UK and the development of a market driven response.
Further examples of this kind of work include: an assessment of labour market intermediaries in Glasgow, a review of Glasgow’s Local Development Companies, detailed reviews of all the labour market intermediaries in Central Scotland and a training and development programme for intermediary staff in organisations across Edinburgh and Lothian. In Tyne and Wear Rocket Science worked with all the key intermediaries to identify ways in which they could form a strong and effective network to deliver a clearer, more effective service to their clients and better value to their funders.
We have developed a detailed self-assessment tool for labour market intermediaries which has benefitted nearly 50 organisations.
