What We Do

Review of the Glasgow Alliance

The Glasgow Alliance was launched by Scotland’s then First Minister, Donald Dewar, to promote close partnership working between the key agencies in Glasgow. Four years after its establishment, Rocket Science was commissioned by the Alliance to carry out a thorough review of its performance. Reviews can be highly sensitive assignments so we worked closely with the client throughout. The aim was to build a base of solid, carefully-collected evidence – both quantitative and qualitative - which would allow us to present widely-accepted and valid recommendations.

We used detailed Reputation Scorecards as part of our interview process, together with Impact Scorecards which allowed us to capture the gap between respondents’ perceptions of the potential of the Alliance and its actual achievements to date.

The key point of the project was a major one-day workshop with all the key partners, where we won wide ownership for our findings and recommendations. Our Report attracted front page coverage and led to a presentation of our findings to the Scottish Minister with responsibility for the Alliance.
