Past life

Prior to joining Rocket Science Freddie was a consultant for a research company in the North East of England, specialising in economic development and also gaining experience in arts and cultural studies. In this role he undertook work for a wide range of different clients including local authorities, NDCs, sub-regional employment consortiums, trade associations, arts and cultural bodies, universities, schools and learning establishments, Third Sector Organisations and local community groups. Previous to this role he was a research assistant for a market analysis consultancy. In 2007 he was employed by Newcastle University in association with the Home Office to design and deliver a participatory action social research framework to examine attitudes towards the Criminal Justice System within BME communities.

Towering strengths

Bit of a generalist with an interest in cross-cutting themes and impacts, particularly the interpretation of top down policies from bottom up perspectives. Experienced in economic evaluation and appraisal and has delivered numerous studies of area-based initiatives at various regional and sub-regional levels. Good consultation and written skills.

Little weaknesses

Fast cars, loud guitars, and... a nice cup of tea. Or overpriced designer coffee. Brainless films. Bad music. ABBA. Still tries to go out skateboarding at the weekend, despite it now taking a week to recover as opposed to a day. Inevitably hurts himself.
