Past life
Research Assistant for Landwise Ltd, Development Executive with The Wise Group and Policy Officer, Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. As Development Executive, worked with a range of voluntary, public and private sector partners to develop projects to move people into sustainable employment. Identified and established links with potential funding sources, helping to secure nearly £10m in European funds. As Policy Officer with SCVO, portfolio included community regeneration, employment legislation and equalities issues. This involved Parliamentary liaison, drafting policy documents, responding to Scottish Executive consultations, facilitating productive networking, organising conferences and briefing sessions, providing advice and support to voluntary organisations. Former counsellor for Childline Scotland and member of the Scottish ESF Objective 3 Advisory Group 2000-01. Current member of the Social Justice Change Fund Assessment Panel.
