Past life
Ten years working in London local government covering all aspects of land use planning and ten years at the Local Government Association as lead on regeneration and economic development. Led LGA policy on promoting the economic development role of local authorities both nationally and at EU level. More recently as an independent consultant Tony has focused on taking forward the community asset transfer agenda working with local authorities and third sector organizations. Also, using the planning system to encourage retail-led regeneration. Expert adviser to the Big Lottery Fund on the Community Assets Fund. Served as board member of the Humanist and St Pancras Housing Association (now Origen HA).
Towering strengths
A wide experience of local government planning, regeneration and economic development practice and policy. Also on developing partnerships between local authorities and third sector organisations on asset-based community economic development. Strong facilitation skills, and in researching and drafting reports and publications.

Playing in a soul/ska band and embarrassing my daughters!
