Past life
Assistant Director of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations where he helped to create the Tenant Participation Advisory Service, the Wise Group and Community Business Scotland. As Managing Director, CEI Consultants, he ran the first Europe-wide programme to tackle long-term unemployment. Established William Roe Associates to work with public agencies on managing change. He is a Board Member of the US Training and Development Corporation. He was recently appointed Chairman of the Scottish Executive's 21st Century Social Work Group and is Chairman of Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
