May 2010 Newsletter - Employment and Skills

Welcome to a special post election edition of the Rocket Science Newsletter where we look in more detail at some of the challenges now facing all of us working within the employment and skills sector.

In particular we look at the role of the third sector and how this might operate within the proposed single welfare to work programme and how devolution and changes to regional infrastructure might impact on service provision. Finally we also look at the employer's perspective, arguably the most critical player in the employability pathway and how best we involve them in influencing the way in which services are delivered.

Rocket Science continues to drive its work within the employment and skills sector. We are currently:

- providing national facilitation and learning for City Strategy Pathfinders on behalf of DWP. (Visit www.citystrategylearning.net);
- working with sub-regional partnerships to map and develop co-commissioning processes; and,
- developing the capacity and capability of partnerships and providers through learning and coaching programmes.

If you would like further information on our services then please contact Caroline Masundire.
